Removal of palatine tonsils (tonsillectomy)
Procedure description: The procedure is normally done under general anaesthesia. It is a removal of whole palatine tonsils, which are chronically inflamed. In our surgery it is done using a typical cold technique – with a scalpel and scissors.
 
 
Reduction of palatine tonsils (tonsillotomy)
Procedure description: The procedure is done under general or local anaesthesia. Its purpose is to reduce the tonsils, which are markedly enlarged and form a mechanical obstacle (usually for breathing, e.g. they cause snoring, syndrome of obstructive sleep apnoea etc.). In our surgery the procedure is usually performed by a radio-frequency technique with the Celon machine supplied by the company Olympus.
 
 
Plasty of palate and and palatine uvula to remove snoring (uvuloplasty, uvulopalatoplasty)
Procedure description: Plasty of the palatine uvula (uvuloplasty) and plasty of the palate and its uvula (uvulopalatoplasty) to remove snoring. It is done under local or general anaesthesia. It is performed either by a radio-frequency technique or standard method – scalpel.
 
 
Extraction of the submandibular gland calculus
Procedure description: Extraction of the calculus from the Wharton’s duct of the submandibular salivary gland. The procedure is done under local anaesthesia.
 
 
Plasty of nasal concha – with difficult breathing through nose (turbinoplasty)
Procedure description: Reduction of the volume of the nasal concha when the patient suffers from a chronic cold, with the aim of improving nasal breathing. It is normally done under local anaesthesia with the help of radio-frequency needle Celon, supplied by the company Olympus.
 
 
Septoplasty
Procedure description: Plasty of a deformed nasal septum, which causes problems with nasal breathing. It is done under general anaesthesia, through nostrils. The aim is not to remove the nasal septum, but its plasty – creation of a direct septum, which enables free nasal breathing.
 
 
Removal of pharyngeal tonsil under endoscopic check and removal of palatine tonsils (endoscopic adenotomy, tonsillectomy)
Procedure description: Combination of procedures 1 and 2. The aim is to remove ill palatine tonsils and nasal vegetations, under general anaesthesia.
 
 
Removal of pharyngeal tonsil under endoscopic chceck and reduction of palatine tonsils (endoscopic adenotomy, tonsillotomy)
Procedure description: Combination of procedures 1 and 3, the aim is to remove the pharyngeal tonsil and reduce big (but otherwise healthy) palatine tonsils. Done under general anaesthesia.
 
 
Plasty of nasal conchi and plasty of nasal septum (turbinoplasty, septoplasty)
Procedure description: Combination of procedures of nasal concha and nasal septum plasties with the aim to adjust the nasal breathing. Done under general anaesthesia.
